The removal company; a staple asset for any potential mover. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re moving home and taking any volume of belongings with you, it makes perfect sense to hire some sort of removal company. There’s a variety of types to choose from, each of which have their own uses and advantages …
There’s the courier service option for the first time, small volume mover. If you’re only taking one or two moderate sized boxes, a courier will wrap them up and take them to your new home with zero fuss. Then there are the options for the larger moves. The man and van removal companies, who will place at your disposal; a van, and a willing van driver who will take your belongings and deposit them where you want for a low price indeed. And finally, there’s the professional moving company, who offer a whole slew of options for transportation and a well trained team of staff if you’re willing to put the extra money in.
Each of these are viable removal solutions, and whichever one you end up going for is based purely on your needs and your budget. Couriers, as I mentioned are for small moves, and the other two offer basically the same service for different price points, though the professional mover is better suited to large moves, and man and van movers are bet suited for those on a budget. But, at the end of the day, they’re all suitable options.
The real adventure begins though, when you start looking for the moving company that suits you best. It’s all well and good choosing the right moving type for you, but there are many companies out there that would like you to choose them. But choose wisely though, because some are cheaper, offer better customer service, and are more reliable than others. Let’s press on, adventurer …
The first task is to make a shortlist of all of the moving companies that fit your criteria. It’s best to stick with those based locally, for conveniences sake. Once you’ve make your shortlist, it’s time to start whittling them down. Start disarming traps, if you’re keeping with the adventuring theme. Start looking up reviews online, and see which of the companies on your list have the best reputations. The ones that are showered with praise are the ones you should keep on your list, though don’t let a couple of bad reviews put you off. Taking a broad outlook is generally the best way to go about things, though that being said, if there are lots of bad reviews for a certain company, don’t be afraid to cross them off without a thought.
With just a few potential treasures left on your list, it’s time to start comparing prices. This is the last thing you should consider when hiring a mover, purely because it is the quality of service that makes a removal company useful. When asking each company for price estimates, be sure you let them know how much weight you’re planning to take, as well as the distance you will be travelling. An approximate number will suffice for this step. After you’re sure you’ve taken all of the right steps, you can go ahead and hire the company that offers the best balance of quality, and cost. Because, like a fine blade, balance and reliability are what matters …
